Sumitomo Corporation President Kato visits Australia
Mr. Susumu Kato President and CEO of Sumitomo Corporation visited Australia over the week of 12-16 October, 2009. The trip included meetings with the CEOs of Sumitomo’s major business partners such as Ford Australia, Woodside and Xstrata, and an inspection of many of the Sumitomo facilities and investments.
Mr. Kato also took time to meet with many of the employees in Sumitomo companies in Australia. In his address to SAPL employees Mr. Kato reminded the staff of the strategic intent of Sumitomo Corporation’s ‘Focus ‘10’ plan, the importance of compliance to the Sumitomo corporate culture, and how strong communication can harness the integrated corporate strength of the Sumitomo Corporation group. Mr. Kato was accompanied throughout the visit by Mr. Takechiyo Tanaka, Managing Director of Sumitomo Australia Pty Ltd.
