Sumitomo Australia’s General Products department covers trading in tyres, wool yarn and timber  products. As with many of Sumitomo Australia’s other activities these businesses are closely integrated with the operations of the Sumitomo Corporation group.

  

Tyres

Sumitomo imports the ‘Sumitomo’ brand of car, SUV, light truck and truck tyres for wholesale distribution in Australia.

Wool Yarns

Sumitomo Australia imports wool yarns manufactured by Summit Wool Spinners Ltd (SWS), a company jointly owned by Sumitomo Corporation and Sumitomo Australia.

SWS is situated in the heart of the sheep-farming region, in the South Island of New Zealand and is New Zealand's largest independent wool spinner supplying top quality carpet and rug yarn for both domestic and international markets.

Sumitomo supplies yarns to leading carpet manufacturers in Australia.

 

Timber Products

Sumitomo’s timber products include logs, woodchips for paper manufacture and biomass for base stock fuel for power generation. These products are exported to Japan and other parts of Asia.
